Make it your Own Cheesy Potatoes

Love this simple, yet delicious dish! Perfect for holidays, pot lucks, or any large gathering, this hot dish is mess-up proof and allows you to have a little fun by adding your own touches. Every person can take this recipe and make it their own. I’ll give you the staple ingredients, which are actually quite appetizing on their own, along with some ideas of things you can add to change it up.

(Insert Your Name Here)’s Cheesy Potatoes

30oz bag Frozen Hashbrowns

16oz Sour Cream

10.75oz can Condensed Cream Style Soup (ie: Cream of Chicken)

2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Salt and Pepper

2  1/2-3 cups Corn Flakes

**Optional Ingredient Ideas**:

-Onion

Bell Pepper

-Ham

-Sausage

-Use Ritz Crackers instead of Corn Flakes to top dish

-Change flavor of soup: Cream of Onion, Cream of Mushroom, Cream of Celery, etc.

-Change flavor of cheese or use as much or as little cheese as you’d like

-Make it lighter by using Fat Free Sour cream and cheeses, and Healthy Request Cream Soup

-Add other herbs or spices

-Any ingredient you’d like!

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together hashbrowns, sour cream, soup, and cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Pour mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish. Top with Corn Flakes either as they are or crumbled.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

Serves 8-10
