What I Found in my Closet this Week…

**3/4 Length Sleeve Fitted Dress**

This week I wore this dress for a baby shower. This picture was actually taken at another time when I was getting ready to go out for an evening with Mike. Perfect for both occasions, this dress is one of my favorites!

One of my favorite pieces to pull out of my closet in both the Spring and Fall is one of my ¾ Length Sleeve Fitted Dresses. It is perfect for both seasons because the longer sleeves keep me warm on those chillier days and evenings, but it still has a hint of color for Spring and a more neutral pattern for Fall. Most one-piece fitted dresses are also designed to be both flattering and forgiving. This dress, along with most dresses of this style, pulls in at my waist…the smallest part of my body and comes out just a little around my hips and lower abdominal area. Perfect for those months where I have a few extra pounds I want to hide but still fits like a glove when I’m at my ideal weight.

The other great thing about this dress is that it is 95% Polyester. Now, many of you may cringe when you hear the term “polyester,” however, the new technology used to create polyester is amazing. It’s not the same as your mother’s old polyester dress or jacket (or for me – the softball uniform I had to wear throughout high school…yuck!). This new type of polyester feels more like a sturdier cotton but is still just as soft as cotton. If you look at the tags of some of your newer, favorite pieces…ones that are soft and comfortable…you may be surprised that what you thought was some type of mix between cotton and spandex, is actually polyester. This material is my new favorite because its comfortable, fits my body well, and is tough to wrinkle. Most of the time you can take pieces made out of this material and wad them up in your luggage and pull them out and wear them…not that I’m recommending that 🙂
